Contrary to what one may think due to its brew color, Rooibos (also known as Red tea) is actually an herbal tea hailing from South Africa. Like most teas, it goes through a fermentation process in which it is finely chopped, bruised, left to ferment in heaps and dried. Rooibos has a high level of antioxidants, low levels of tannins and lacks caffeine. It is known to help with tension, allergy and digestive problems.
